OREGON CITY – The city of Oregon City is one step closer to making it easier for vendors at special public events to sell food, arts and crafts, and other products and services.
The Oregon City Commission approved the first reading of an ordinance designed to streamline the approval process by no longer requiring vendors to obtain a business license before opening at public events on city property.
The ordinance says that organizers of special events already are required to obtain a business license to operate and that forcing vendors to purchase an additional business license contributes to a “perception of an unfriendly business environment, a city staff report says.
