Clackamas Community College to host wetlands talk Aug. 6

OREGON CITY – The Clackamas Community College (CCC) Environmental Learning Center is hosting a class about wetlands, “Meet the World of Wetlands,” that is open to the public.

Class participants will learn what wetlands do that makes them special and area experts will discuss the benefits that wetlands provide and talk about the different plants that call wetlands home.

Presenters are professional wetland scientist John van Staveren and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Park Ranger Natalie Balkam, who comes from the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. 

The wetlands class takes place Saturday, August 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m at CCC’s Environmental Learning Center, located at 19600 Molalla Ave in Oregon City.

Admission is $10.
